NEW YORK: United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has called on both Iran and Israel to show restraint amid escalating missile exchanges between the two countries.
In a post on social media platform X, Guterres said, “Enough is enough. It is time to stop. Peace and diplomacy must prevail.”
His remarks come as Iran launched fresh missile attacks on central Israel in response to earlier Israeli strikes. Reports indicate four people have been killed and over 90 injured in Israel, with many trapped under rubble.
Israeli jets have also targeted Iranian positions in ongoing retaliatory operations.
Guterres emphasized the urgent need to avoid further escalation and called on both sides to prioritize peace and diplomatic engagement.
