UNITED NATIONS: The United Nations Security Council has canceled a scheduled vote on a resolution related to reopening the Strait of Hormuz by force.

No new date has been announced for the vote. France, China and Russia opposed the draft resolution, while disagreements were also seen among the 10 non-permanent members of the council.

Iran’s Foreign Minister stated that such voting efforts could further complicate the situation, warning against actions that may increase tensions.

The Strait of Hormuz has remained closed since February 28, following military strikes on Iran by the United States and Israel.

The cancellation showed growing divisions within the Security Council and underscored the seriousness of the ongoing crisis in the region.
