ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Tuesday said that the UN Security Council had failed to maintain global peace and stability.

Speaking at the Margalla Dialogue 2025, he said humanity faces multiple urgent challenges that require strong international cooperation.

Dar highlighted that Pakistan, despite contributing very little to global carbon emissions, is among the countries most affected by climate change. He stressed that addressing these challenges demands effective global mechanisms and stronger multilateral institutions.

He also noted the negative impact of the global debt crisis on over 100 countries and called for promoting economic equality and universal access to digital technology.
