ASSAM: Chief Minister of India’s Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath has made controversial statements regarding the Muslim community, raising widespread concern and criticism.

During a public address in Assam, he claimed that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) could identify and evict Muslims from the state, asserting that each Muslim would be singled out.

Adityanath further stated that in Uttar Pradesh, public prayers on streets would no longer be allowed, nor would loud religious calls be permitted from places of worship.

Observers noted that these statements come amid heightened political tensions in states including West Bengal and Assam, as elections approach, with critics warning of rising communal polarization.

Human rights groups and political analysts have expressed alarm over the remarks, saying they could incite further discrimination and social unrest.
