US Envoy, Naqvi Discuss Security, Counter-terrorism Matters

ISLAMABAD: Acting US Ambassador Natalie Baker met with Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi to discuss matters of mutual interest, including Pakistan-US relations, counter-terrorism, and collaboration on narcotics control.

During the meeting, Ambassador Baker congratulated Minister Naqvi on receiving the Nishan-e-Imtiaz and extended her best wishes. She also expressed condolences for the loss of lives caused by recent rains and floods in Pakistan, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, conveying sympathy to the families affected.

Minister Naqvi commended former US President Donald Trump for his efforts toward global peace, noting that his interventions prevented four wars and served humanity. He expressed hope that ongoing initiatives for ceasefires in Russia-Ukraine and Gaza would also succeed.

He further highlighted that during Trump’s tenure, Pakistan-US relations saw warmth and growth, emphasizing Pakistan’s support for all measures promoting peace.

Ambassador Baker underlined that Pakistan remains a key partner of the United States, and that the bilateral relationship continues to hold special significance.
