WASHINGTON: US is also thinking about banning of Chinese social media app “Tik-Tok” after Indian government has banned Chinese popular apps including “Tik-Tok”.
US State Secretary Mike Pompeo said in an interview with Laura Ingraham on Fox News that “we are taking this very seriousely”.
According to CNN report, one top diplomate of Trump administration added that “if you want your private information in the hands of Chinese Communist Party” then download the app.
“Tik-Tok is run by American key leaders across safety, products, security, with hundreds of employees, and led by American CEO” a Tik-Tok spokesperson said countering a Pompeo statement as per the report.
According to the report, Tik-Tok spokesperson also said that ” we have never provided users’ data to Chinese government”.
According to media reports, TikTok spokesperson said that they have decided to stop operations of the app in Hong Kong after introducing National Security Law there.
Furthermore, last week after a clash in the Himalayan region between Chinese and Indian forces, Indian governemnt has also banned many Chinese popular apps including Tik-Tok.
