Vibrant, strong judiciary must for Pakistan’s progress: Lord Qurban

Says Pakistani and Kashmiri leaders should increase coordination with British parliamentarians regarding issue of Kashmir.

LONDON: A strong and vibrant judicial system is imperative for development and progress of any country such as Pakistan.

Pakistan needs such a judicial system in which speedy justice is provided to each and every member of society irrespective of their social and economic status.

These remarks were passed by member of the House of Lords Mr Qurban while talking to a group of journalists in London today.

He said that if all departments and organs of the state fail to discharge their responsibilities and only one organisation that is the judiciary fulfills its responsibility of providing justice in society there would be no danger to that state.

About the situation in Indian occupied Kashmir, Lord Qurban said that situation was deteriorating in the occupied territory day by day but the people of Kashmir living in any part of the world would continue their struggle for the right to self-determination.

He also said that Pakistani and Kashmiri political leaders should increase their coordination with members of the House of Lords and House of common in Great Britain and urge them to help in the resolution of the issue of Kashmir.

It may be mentioned here that Indian occupation regime conducted local government elections in parts of Kashmir on Wednesday against which people in Azad Kashmir and Pakistan held protests calling upon the international community to pressure New Delhi to hold a plebescite in Kashmir under the United Nations Security Council resolutions.
