Violence by political party claims constable’s life: police

Abdul Hameed Shah was on duty at Chungi No 26 from where he was kidnapped and tortured to death.

ISLAMABAD: The capital police on Sunday stated that one of its officials died after being beaten by protesters of a political party.

In a statement on social media, the Islamabad police said that constable Abdul Hameed Shah was on duty at Chungi No 26 on Saturday from where he was kidnapped and tortured to death by miscreants during the protest of the political party.

The deceased constable was posted in the investigation wing of the capital police and was a native of Abbottabad. He had joined the capital police in 1988. He was expected to retire from the police after three months.

It may be mentioned here that a hide and seek drama has been going on be between the protesters of PTI and the police for the last about three days after the party of jailed ex-prime minister Imran Khan took to the streets demanding his release.
