ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Crypto and Blockchai Bilal bin Saqib said shortcomings within the national education system remain one of the most significant barriers to the widespread adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the country.
Highlighting the urgent need for comprehensive digital transformation, the minister cautioned that the governance framework could face serious dysfunction if digital reforms are not implemented.
He emphasized that strengthening digital infrastructure must be treated as a core national security priority, requiring full acceptance and commitment at every institutional level.
Bilal bin Saqib further noted that AI will profoundly influence a wide range of sectors, including employment, freelancing, and call-center operations, making it essential for Pakistan’s workforce and institutions to prepare for these rapidly evolving technological shifts.
He said that Pakistan must adopt sovereign computing to remain competitive globally, warning that failure to do so would leave the country significantly behind.
