TRINIDAD: West Indies defeated Pakistan by 202 runs in the third and final ODI to clinch the three-match series 2-1, marking their first ODI series win against Pakistan in 34 years.
The deciding match took place in Trinidad, where Pakistan won the toss and elected to field first. West Indies posted a formidable total of 294 runs for 6 wickets in their allotted 50 overs.
Captain Shai Hope starred with a brilliant 120 off 94 balls, while Justin Greaves remained unbeaten on 43 runs from 24 deliveries. Evin Lewis contributed 37 and Roston Chase added 36 runs.
For Pakistan, Naseem Shah bowled 10 overs conceding 72 runs and took 2 wickets. Abrar Ahmed also took 2 wickets for 34 runs, while Mohammad Nawaz and Saqib Ayub claimed one wicket each.
Chasing 295, Pakistan’s batting lineup collapsed under pressure from the West Indies bowling attack. The entire team was bowled out for just 92 runs inside 30 overs.
Several Pakistani batsmen, including Saqib Ayub, Abdullah Shafique, Mohammad Rizwan, Hasan Ali, and Abrar Ahmed, were dismissed without scoring. Salman Ali Agha was the top scorer with 30 runs, followed by Mohammad Nawaz’s unbeaten 23.
West Indies’ Jaden Seales was the standout bowler, taking 6 wickets for only 18 runs. Gudakesh Motie took 2 wickets, and Roston Chase claimed one.
With this comprehensive win, West Indies ended a 34-year drought against Pakistan in ODI series victories, showcasing a dominant performance in both batting and bowling departments.
