LAHORE: The Punjab government has announced new winter timings for all public and private schools across the province.
The revised schedule will be effective from October 16, 2025, to March 31, 2026, and has been introduced to protect students from the harsh winter weather.
Under the new schedule, single-shift boys’ schools will operate from 8:45 AM to 2:45 PM (Monday to Thursday), while classes on Friday will end at 12:30 PM. Single-shift girls’ schools will function from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM (Monday to Thursday), and will close at 12:15 PM on Fridays.
For double-shift boys’ schools, the first shift will run from 8:45 AM to 12:45 PM (Monday to Thursday) and until 12:30 PM on Fridays. The second shift will begin at 1:00 PM and end at 5:00 PM (Monday to Thursday), while on Fridays it will be from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
Similarly, double-shift girls’ schools will operate the morning shift from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM (Monday to Thursday) and until 12:15 PM on Fridays. The afternoon shift will run from 12:45 PM to 4:45 PM (Monday to Thursday), and from 1:45 PM to 4:45 PM on Fridays.
The provincial education authorities stated that these timings have been carefully set to ensure the safety and comfort of students during the winter months.
