FAISALABAD: A woman opened fire on a lawyer in the district courts of Faisalabad on Friday where she had come for hearing of a case.
In retaliation, a security guard of the lawyer shot the woman dead on the spot, eyewitnesses and police said.
The injured lawyer and his clerk were shifted to hospital where they were being treated but their condition was stated to be out of danger.
On the other hand, police have taken the dead body of the woman into custody to probe the matter and ascertain the motive behind the incident.
The incident created panic and fear on the premises of the district courts with lawyers and litigants running for safety.
