RAWALPINDI: Mishaal Malik, wife of imprisoned Kashmiri Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik, has warned that her husband may be executed on January 28, calling on the international community to take notice.

Speaking to the media at Bajaur Plaza, Mishaal Malik said she was speaking not just for her husband, but for “millions of martyrs” of the Kashmiri struggle.

“We are not seeking thrones; we are seeking justice. Our movement is not about politics or power but about standing up for the oppressed,” she said.

She accused the Indian government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi of carrying out widespread human rights abuses in Indian-occupied Kashmir. Mishaal Malik claimed that mosques have been destroyed, temples constructed, and Kashmiri women subjected to violence and abuse.

“Hundreds of thousands have been martyred, and thousands remain missing, yet the world remains silent,” she added.

Mishaal Malik also described her husband’s condition in prison, saying that Yasin Malik has been held in solitary confinement for six and a half years and has been denied access to lawyers, family visits, and other basic rights.

Reiterating her fears about January 28, she said: “This is not just about my husband. I speak for all those who have sacrificed their lives for Kashmir.” She appealed for international attention to prevent what she described as a grave injustice.
