BANNU: A young civil service officer who was posted as the chief executive officer of the Bannu Cantonment Board has committed suicide, local police confirmed today.
Muhammad Bilal Pasha belonged to a village in South Punjab and had passed the Central Superior Services (CSS) exam a few years ago.
He was working as the CEO Cantonment Board Bannu but was to leave the charge and move to Rawalpindi where he had recently been transferred.
Police said that the dead body of Pasha was found at his residence this morning. The body was found in a pool of blood as there was a bullet injury to his head, the deputy superintendent (DSP) of the police Bannu Cantonment said.
The police also said that Pasha had been suffering from an acute depression, but more details were unavailable. The police have decided to conduct a postmortem on the body
The dead body was shifted to the native town of Khanewal of the deceased and laid to rest there.
