GILGIT: Youth Boxing World Champion Usman Wazir defended his WBO World Youth Welterweight title by defeating Tanzanian boxer at the Lalik Jan Shaheed Stadium in Gilgit today.
In the first six rounds of the eight-round world title fight, the Tanzanian opponent gave Usman Wazir a tough time. In the last two rounds, Usman Wazir’s barrage of attacks left the rival boxer helpless.
Usman Wazir was declared the winner in the eleventh international fight, who is still unbeaten with a score of eleven zero.
Wazir hailing from Astore made his debut against Moroccan Brahim Oubenais (0-1-0) at the FIVE Palm Jumeirah Hotel in Dubai. He won the fight by split decision after four rounds claiming his first professional victory.
