ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has called for the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into medical education, digital health systems, telemedicine, and data-driven research to enhance Pakistan’s health sciences sector.
He made these remarks while presiding over the first meeting of the Governing Body of Federal Ziauddin University Islamabad.
During the meeting, President Zardari outlined a clear vision for transforming the university into a center of excellence in education, research, and innovation, with a strong focus on emerging technologies. He encouraged interdisciplinary research in fields such as biotechnology, precision medicine, and medical robotics.
The President also highlighted the importance of embedding transparent financial systems and data-driven decision-making from the beginning. He urged the Governing Body to uphold the university’s long-term vision and credibility.
Additionally, a proposal to establish a campus of Federal Ziauddin University in Karachi was discussed. The initiative will proceed in accordance with statutory requirements and regulatory approvals.
