Zardari Hopeful Iranian President’s Visit Will Further Boost Bilateral Ties

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has expressed hope that the visit of Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian will further boost Pakistan-Iran relations and open new avenues for cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

During their meeting at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Sunday, President Zardari condemned recent Israeli aggression against Iran and paid tribute to the bravery and unity of the Iranian people during the 12-day conflict. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s solidarity with Iran and praised its resilience in the face of adversity.

President Zardari also thanked the Iranian leadership, particularly Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, for their unwavering support for the people of Jammu and Kashmir and for opposing India’s illegal occupation.

In response, President Pezeshkian expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s support during the recent conflict and acknowledged Islamabad’s constructive role in promoting peace and de-escalating tensions in the region.

Both leaders held wide-ranging talks on regional and global issues and agreed to enhance strategic cooperation to ensure a peaceful and prosperous future for the region.
