According to international media reports, the special tailor-made Ferrari, named “Luсe,” was sold by Sotheby’s for $40 million, making it the most expensive new car ever sold at auction.
The sale also broke Ferrari’s previous auction record. In 2025, a specially commissioned Ferrari Daytona SP3 fetched $26 million at auction.
The record price comes as Ferrari continues to face scrutiny over its entry into the electric vehicle market. However, the sale demonstrated that wealthy collectors remain willing to pay extraordinary sums for rare and exclusive Ferrari models.
The auction was held as part of Monterey Car Week, one of the world’s major events for rare and high-value automobiles, attracting collectors and enthusiasts from around the globe.
