27 reserved seat members suspended in Punjab

Speaker issues order on point of order raised by opposition member.

LAHORE: The membership of 27 reserved seat members in Punjab Assembly has been suspended in the wake of recent Supreme Court ruling.

The 27 members had reached the assembly after seats meant for Sunni Ittehad Council were doled out to PML-N and other parties. As many as 23 of the suspended members belonged to the PML-N.

The speaker of the Punjab Assembly Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan issued the suspension order on a point of order raised by opposition member Rana Aftab.
