ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and the United States have made significant progress in negotiations on a bilateral trade framework,.
Both sides have agreed to accelerate technical-level talks and work toward finalising the agreement at the earliest.
The development came during talks between Federal Minister for Finance Muhammad Aurangzeb and the US Trade Representative.
During the meeting, Aurangzeb stressed the importance of expanding trade and investment ties with Washington, describing stronger bilateral cooperation as vital for Pakistan’s export-led economic growth.
US officials welcomed Pakistan’s progress on labour and regulatory reforms, according to the report.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral trade and economic cooperation and agreed to maintain close engagement to complete the proposed trade framework as soon as possible.
