ISLAMABAD: Political leaders from Azad Kashmir have accused a banned action committee of attempting to spread unrest, warning that those involved will not escape the law.

Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad, former Azad Kashmir prime minister Sardar Atiq, PML-N AJK President Shah Ghulam Qadir, PPP AJK leader Nabeela Ayub and others said that despite political differences, Pakistan’s security remained their top priority.

They claimed recent unrest had been brought under control but resulted in losses worth billions of rupees and multiple casualties. The leaders alleged that certain elements were inciting people against the state, which they said would not be tolerated.

The speakers reiterated support for Pakistan and its armed forces, stating that the majority of Kashmiris stand with the country. They also condemned calls for mutiny and violence, urging strict legal action against those promoting unrest.

During the briefing, a video was also presented, allegedly showing acts of violence against security personnel and anti-state rhetoric linked to the group.
