AJK Police Arrest Alleged RAW Agent

MUZAFFARABAD: Police in Azad Kashmir have arrested an alleged operative of the Indian intelligence agency RAW on charges of recording videos and taking photographs of sensitive installations in the region.

According to Inspector General of Police Azad Kashmir, Captain (R) Liaquat Ali Malik, the suspect was apprehended by Rawalakot police during an intelligence-based operation.

He said that elements working against the state were involved in passing sensitive information to hostile networks, adding that the arrested individual was engaged in capturing visuals of important installations for alleged intelligence purposes.

The IG stated that the suspect had been active on social media and was reportedly using digital platforms to support his activities.

During a press briefing, an alleged confessional video statement of the suspect was also shown to the media.

He added that authorities remain committed to protecting the dignity and security of Azad Kashmir and will not allow any attempt to undermine national security or sensitive infrastructure.
