An agreement was reached between the UAE and Israel to normalize relations

Agreements for investment, direct flights, establishment of embassies are likely to be made in the next few weeks

An agreement has been reached between the United Arab Emirates and Israel to normalize relations, the announcement was made by US President Donald Trump on a social networking site.

A joint statement from US President Donald Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed Nahyan called for normalization of relations between the UAE and Israel, the BBC reported. The three leaders expressed hope that “this historic development will lead to the promotion of peace in the Middle East.”

The statement added that as a result of the agreement, Israel would suspend plans to annex large parts of Palestine to the occupied West Bank, before which Israel had no diplomatic relations with the Gulf Arab states. However, Iran’s growing regional influence paved the way for informal contacts between them (Israel and the Arab world).

A statement from the UAE’s ambassador to the United States, Youssef Al-Atiba, described the agreement with Israel as a “diplomacy” and a “victory for the region.”

This is not Israel’s first agreement with an Islamic country, but the third since Israel’s declaration of independence in 1948. Israel signed a similar agreement with Egypt in 1979 and Jordan in 1994.

The report claims that in the next few weeks, the UAE and Israeli delegations will invest in tourism, telecommunications, technology, energy, health, culture, environment, direct flights and each other’s countries. Agreements on the establishment of embassies will be signed.

A joint statement issued by US President Donald Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and Crown Prince Mohammed Al Nahyan of Abu Dhabi said that the “Strategic Agenda for the Middle East” launched by the United Arab Emirates and Israel and the United States will join.

The leaders of the United Arab Emirates and Israel say the opportunities and threats in the region are the same for both countries, and that they are committed to promoting regional stability through diplomatic ties, economic ties and security.
