Attack on airbase foiled, four terrorists killed

A security force personnel also martyred while defending navy's airbase at Turbat, says ISPR.

RAWALPINDI: Terrorists have carried out yet another attack, this time on an airbase of Pakistan Navy in Turbat Balochistan.

However, the ISPR said, the attempt to target was foiled by security forces and all the four attackers were killed. A security force personnel also embraced martyrdom while fighting the terrorists. He was identified sepoy Noman Farid of Balochistan Frontier Corps.

The terrorists carried out the attack on PNS airbase Siddiqui at Turbat on the night between March 25 and 26, according to the ISPR.

A statement said that the security forces were determined to eliminate terrorists and continue fighting them to protect the people and maintain peace in the country.

Last night, four terrorists were also killed in an intelligence-based operation conducted in Dera Ismail Khan, said the ISPR.

For the past a few months, terrorists attacks in Khyber Pakthunkhwa and Balochistan have increased.

These terror activities are said to be a handiwork of elements hiding in Afghanistan. Pakistan has repeatedly asked the Taliban regime in Kabul not to allow any outfit to use its soil as a launching pad for terror activities in Pakistan but to no avail.
