Champions Trophy events finalized by PCB

LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the schedule of matches and other events for the ICC Champions Trophy that is going to start in Pakistan in February.

The PCB also finalized the opening ceremonies of the Championship that were approved by Chairman Mohsin Naqvi. Three stadiums of Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi have been given a facelift for the Champions Trophy. The inaugural ceremony of the refurbished Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore will be held on February 7 and Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif will be the chief guest 

The opening ceremony of National Stadium Karachi will be held on February 11 and President Asif Zardari will be the chief guest. The opening ceremony of the Champions.

Due to the delay in the schedule of the events and the arrival of the teams, the participation of captains of all the teams in the opening ceremony of the Champions Trophy is not certain and the press conference of the captains of all eight teams and the photo shoot with the trophy will also not be possible.

ICC Champions Trophy will start on February 19, and the opening match will be played between Pakistan and New Zealand at the National Stadium in Karachi.
