Constitutional Court backlog rises to Over 22,600 cases

ISLAMABAD: The number of pending cases before the Federal Constitutional Court has reached 22,632, according to the latest official figures.

Data shows that 21,886 cases were transferred from the Supreme Court to the Constitutional Court in November 2025 when the FCC was formed. During the past six months, 4,467 new cases were filed, while the court disposed of 5,052 cases.

In February 2026, 681 cases were instituted and 319 were decided. In March, 420 cases were filed and 397 were disposed of.

During April, 775 new cases were registered while 747 were decided. In May, the court received 662 cases and disposed of 839, marking the highest monthly disposal during the period.

In June 2026, 697 new cases were filed, while 478 were disposed of, leaving the total pending caseload at 22,632.
