HARIPUR: At least eight people were killed and eight others injured after a fire broke out at the Hattar Industrial Estate in Haripur, police said on Thursday.
According to District Police Officer Shafiullah Gandapur, the deceased and injured belong to the same family. The fire erupted after a gas pipeline exploded within the industrial area.
Firefighting teams from five districts rushed to the scene and took part in efforts to extinguish the blaze, while police and rescue officials carried out relief operations.
Authorities said five bodies were shifted to Kot Najibullah Hospital, while three were taken to the trauma center.
