LAHORE: The first Hajj flight from Lahore is scheduled to depart tomorrow morning under the “Route to Makkah” initiative, officials confirmed on Friday.

According to airport sources, a Saudi delegation comprising immigration and Hajj officials has arrived at Allama Iqbal International Airport to review arrangements for pilgrims. The team inspected operational facilities and preparedness ahead of the commencement of Hajj flights from Lahore.

Under the Route to Makkah project, Saudi immigration procedures will now be completed at Pakistani airports, allowing pilgrims to undergo clearance before departure. Officials said separate immigration halls have been established at Lahore airport for this purpose, while similar facilities are also operational in Karachi and Islamabad.

After arrival in Saudi Arabia, pilgrims will be able to exit directly from the terminal without additional immigration checks, significantly reducing processing time.

The first Hajj flight from Lahore is expected to take off at 10:30 AM tomorrow, marking the formal start of the Hajj flight operation from the city under the new arrangement.
