Four terrorists killed in DI Khan operation: ISPR

Arms and ammunition recovered from terrorists, clearance operation underway in area.

RAWALPINDI: Four terrorists were gunned down by security forces in an intelligence-based operation carried out in the Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber Pakthunkhwa.

In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations here said that on the basis of intelligence when security forces reached at the hideout of the terrorists, they were fired upon.

During an intense exchange of firing, the security forces killed the four terrorists. Arms and ammunition were recovered from their possession. The terrorists were involved in armed attacks on security forces and civilians, it added.

In order to ensure that no terrorists remained in the area, clearance operation was being conducted by the security forces, said the statement.

It may be noted that despite continuous operations, terrorists continue targeting security forces in the Khyber Pakthunkhwa and Balochistan provinces bordering Afghanistan.

These terror activities are said to be a handiwork of elements hiding in Afghanistan. Pakistan has repeatedly asked the Taliban regime in Kabul not to allow any outfit to use its soil as a launching pad for terror activities in Pakistan but to no avail.
