PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz has said that by-elections cannot be held on 500 seats of National and Provincial Assemblies. Holding by-elections is not Khalaji’s (aunty) house. If by-elections were announced, we would not sit at home.
Maryam Nawaz said that the Prime Minister did not have confidence in his members of the National and Provincial Assemblies. His fear was reflected behind the pictures released on the day of the meeting. Chairman NAB’s name is Imran Khan, it is dangerous to play with national institutions, the price will have to be paid, PML-N is united and will remain. The government tried hard to break the PML-N but failed, she said.
During a press conference in Lahore, Maryam Nawaz said that under the constitution, the new senators have to be sworn in after March 11, the Senate will make decisions regarding the PDM elections, whether the Senate elections are held sooner or later, cannot save the government. They understand that the days of government are few, whatever tactics you adopt, you will have to go home.
She said that Imran Khan cannot manipulate the constitution for personal interests nor will we allow it. The Election Commission is a constitutional body and it should act in accordance with the constitution. Chairman Election Commission should not accept any unconstitutional and illegal move. The nation is watching the Election Commission of Pakistan.
Maryam Nawaz said that we are not against show of hands, we had challenged the election of chairman senate, then she did not remember show of hands? Remember the show of hands when they see their government gone? Why is the Supreme Court being made controversial? The Supreme Court cannot amend the constitution, it can only interpret the law.
