RAWALPINDI: The founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, met with his family members and legal team in Rawalpindi Central Jail, while he also spoke to his sons through a WhatsApp call.
According to jail sources, on Tuesday, the PTI founder and his wife met with family members and lawyers. The family members included Meher-un-Nisa and Mubashara. Among the lawyers who met Imran Khan were Barrister Ali Zafar, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, Advocate Zaheer Abbas, Advocate Mubashir Maqsood, Advocate Razia Sultan, and Advocate Ali Imran.
Sources also confirmed that the former prime minister spoke via WhatsApp call with his sons Qasim Khan and Sulaiman Khan, who are based in London. These meetings with the PTI founder and his wife in Central Jail Rawalpindi were being conducted regularly and in accordance with the rules.
Jail sources however termed false and baseless propaganda claims by certain elements that such meetings were not allowed. They termed it mere political point-scoring with no connection to reality. These individuals are using such tactics merely to gain media attention and remain in the headlines. Jail officials have categorically rejected such misleading and unfounded reports.
