India given shut-up call over Pak-China Kashmir statement

Kashmir is a disputed territory and New Delhi should implement UNSC resolutions to resolve the issue, says FO.

ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office has said that India has no locus standi to raise any objections to the June 8th joint statement by Pakistan and China on Jammu and Kashmir.

In a statement, the Foreign Office stayed that instead of creating misunderstanding and rumours, New Delhi should fulfil its promises and obligations to implement the United Nations Security Council resolutions to resolve the issue of Kashmir.

The Foreign Office said that Kashmir has been on the agenda of the United Nations Security Council for over seven decades and it has to be decided in accordance with the wishes of the Kashmiri people.

It said that India can never change the disputed status of Kashmir and its unilateral decision to abolish the special status of the territory on August 5, 2019, was illegal.

The FO also warned India to avoid creating misunderstanding that Kashmir was part of its union as the issue was to be decided under the UNSC resolutions.

Pakistan also warned India to stop its propaganda against CPEC which was project for the development of the two countries and in the region.
