QUETTA: An anti-terrorism court has sentenced Baloch Yakjehti Committee leaders Mahrang Baloch and Saifullah to life imprisonment in connection with the killing of a security personnel in Gwadar.
According to court proceedings, both accused were tried through an online hearing from District Jail Quetta. The court announced the verdict after completing the trial in the high-profile case involving the death of security official Shabbir Baloch.
Following the verdict, Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti described the decision as a reflection of the rule of law, stating that justice had been served after a two-year legal process.
He said that the state values the sacrifice of security personnel and will continue efforts to ensure accountability in cases involving violence against law enforcement officers.
The chief minister further added that those involved in promoting violence or targeting state institutions under the guise of protest would not be given any concession.
He reiterated the government’s commitment to maintaining law and order in the province and said operations against elements threatening peace would continue until complete stability is achieved.
