OIC Ministerial Conference on Women Opens in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: The two-day Ministerial Conference on Women of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has started in Islamabad, bringing together ministers, senior government officials, and women leaders from across the Muslim world.

The conference will focus on women’s social rights and other key issues affecting women in OIC member states. Delegations from the organization’s member countries have continued arriving in Islamabad ahead of the event.

Minister of State Barrister Aqeel Malik and other senior officials welcomed the visiting delegations. Federal Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar will serve as the chair of the conference.

Ahead of the event, organizers also released an official theme song and a documentary highlighting the objectives of the 9th OIC Ministerial Conference on Women.

According to officials, nearly 190 delegates from 57 OIC member states are expected to participate in the conference.

The gathering is expected to provide a platform for discussions on strengthening cooperation among member countries and advancing policies related to women’s empowerment, social development, and rights across the Islamic world.
