ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has offered to host the second phase of talks between Iran and the United States, according to media reports citing Pakistani officials and international news agencies.

Sources said that Islamabad has proposed hosting the negotiations before the expiry of the current ceasefire period, as diplomatic engagement between the two sides continues. The second round of talks is reportedly expected to take place later this week, with both Washington and Tehran exploring the possibility of face-to-face discussions aimed at reaching a broader agreement.

According to reports, an American official acknowledged that discussions are underway regarding renewed direct engagement with Iran, while regional diplomatic channels remain active.

The development has sparked speculation about the possibility of further high-level diplomatic activity in the region. Some political figures, including Republican leader Sajid Tarar, have suggested that U.S. President Donald Trump may also be considering a visit to Pakistan, although no official confirmation has been made.

Diplomatic observers note that Iran has historically shown trust in Pakistan as a neutral intermediary, which could make Islamabad a viable venue for sensitive negotiations between Tehran and Washington. However, analysts emphasize that the situation remains fluid, and no final decision has been announced regarding the location or format of the talks.

The potential involvement of Islamabad in facilitating Iran–US dialogue highlights Pakistan’s continued role in regional diplomacy, particularly in efforts aimed at reducing tensions in the Middle East.
