Pakistan, Türkiye Agree to Strengthen Strategic Partnership

ANTALYA: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan have agreed to further strengthen the strategic partnership between Pakistan and Türkiye, reaffirming their commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 5th Antalya Diplomacy Forum, where both leaders discussed a wide range of bilateral, regional, and global issues. Senior Pakistani officials including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Information Minister Attaullah Tarar were also present, along with top Turkish leadership.

President Erdoğan warmly welcomed the Prime Minister and thanked him for attending the forum, while appreciating Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts for regional peace. He reaffirmed Türkiye’s continued support for Pakistan’s initiatives aimed at promoting stability in the region.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed gratitude for the Turkish leadership’s hospitality and congratulated President Erdoğan on the successful hosting of the forum, calling it a significant global platform for dialogue and cooperation.

Both leaders also exchanged views on recent regional developments, particularly the evolving situation in the Middle East, and emphasized the importance of sustained peace efforts and dialogue. The Prime Minister shared updates on ceasefire developments and ongoing diplomatic engagements aimed at achieving lasting peace.

Reaffirming the historic and brotherly ties between Pakistan and Türkiye, the two sides expressed satisfaction over the positive trajectory of bilateral relations. They agreed to hold the 8th High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC) meeting in Ankara later this year and to accelerate ongoing initiatives in economic and development cooperation.

The meeting concluded with a mutual resolve to further strengthen strategic ties and expand collaboration for peace, stability, and shared prosperity.
