ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif departed from Islamabad on Monday for a one-day official visit to Qatar.
Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, and Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar are accompanying the prime minister during the visit.
During his stay in Doha, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to meet the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. He will also offer condolences to the Amir, the Qatari royal family, and the people of Qatar on the passing of the former Amir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
According to official sources, the visit reflects the longstanding brotherly relations between Pakistan and Qatar, as well as the close ties shared by the leadership and people of both countries.
The visit is expected to reaffirm the strong diplomatic and bilateral partnership between Islamabad and Doha.
