MIRPUR: Civil society organizations held protest rallies in Mirpur District and Leepa Valley of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, expressing opposition to the activities of the proscribed Awami Action Committee and calling for the maintenance of peace and stability in the region.
The rallies saw participants raising slogans against the proscribed Action Committee, while speakers criticized what they described as disruptive activities by the banned outfit, state-run Radio Pakistan reported.
Addressing the gatherings, civil society representatives said the public would not be influenced by the group’s agenda and reaffirmed their commitment to preserving law and order.
Speakers maintained that attempts to disturb peace in the region had failed and claimed that the committee’s protest campaign had been rejected by the local population.
Participants also chanted slogans expressing support for Pakistan and the Pakistan Army, including “Kashmir banay ga Pakistan” and “Pakistan Army zindabad.”
The speakers urged residents to reject the outlawed committee and stressed that all issues should be addressed through constitutional and legal mechanisms.
They further asserted that the activities of the banned organization were harmful to national stability and had been rejected by what they described as the patriotic people of the region.
