ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has fixed for hearing the petitions seeking suspension of sentences of Imaan Mazari and her husband Hadi Ali Chattha.

A three-member bench headed by Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, comprising Justice Musarrat Hilali and Justice Shahid Bilal, will take up the matter on July 6.

Earlier, the Supreme Court had directed that a decision on the suspension applications be made within 15 days. However, the timeframe lapsed without a ruling, prompting further proceedings in the apex court.

The petitions were filed after the expiry of the court’s earlier directive, which had instructed the relevant forum to decide the matter within the stipulated period.

Meanwhile, the sentence suspension applications are also pending before the Islamabad High Court, where related proceedings are yet to conclude.
