RAWALPINDI: Security forces killed 22 militants during an intelligence-based operation in Khyber District, according to the military’s media wing Inter-Services Public Relations.
The operation, conducted on April 21, involved an exchange of fire in which all 22 militants were eliminated. ISPR said the militants opened indiscriminate fire while attempting to evade arrest, resulting in the death of a 10-year-old child.
According to the statement, the militants were involved in multiple terrorist activities in the area, and weapons and ammunition were recovered from their possession.
Security forces have launched a search and clearance operation to eliminate any remaining militants in the region.
