RAWALPINDI: Security forces carried out an intelligence-based operation in the Basima area of Balochistan’s Nala region, targeting terrorists linked to an alleged Indian-sponsored network, according the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
During the exchange of fire, 14 terrorists were killed while several others were reportedly injured. The operation was launched after intelligence reports indicated that the group was planning attacks on a nearby police station and financial institutions.
ISPR stated that the terrorists were neutralized effectively, and their vehicles along with improvised explosive devices were destroyed during the operation. One soldier, Lance Havildar Muhammad Abbas, was martyred while fighting bravely.
A follow-up clearance operation is underway to eliminate any remaining threats in the area. Security forces reaffirmed their commitment to continuing counterterrorism operations under the broader national security framework aimed at eliminating terrorism from the region.
