South Waziristan police end strike over NCP vehicles

District Police Officer says matter resolved after discussion with authorities of FC.

WANA: Police in South Waziristan observed a strike and stopped official and field work after FC snatched two of its non-customs (NCP) paid vehicles and handed them over to the customs department two days ago.

The Frontier Constabulary (FC) confiscated two NCP vehicles two days ago and handed it over to the customs. Over FC’s action, over 1,200 officials of all the seven police stations in South Waziristan went on a strike. 

District Police Officer Farmanullah Khan said the matter was resolved after discussion with the authorities of FC. He said the vehicles were confiscated due to misunderstanding and two the police got back the vehicles after which the strike was called off.
