Swiss Woman Abducted from Lahore Airport Rescued, Suspects Held

LAHORE: A Swiss national who was reportedly abducted after arriving at Lahore Airport has been safely recovered, and the suspects involved have been taken into custody, police confirmed.

According to the police, the woman identified as Sofia Maria Miller had traveled from the United States to Lahore via a Turkish airline. Shortly after her arrival, she went missing, prompting concern and the registration of a kidnapping case by Sarwar Road Police on the complaint of her Nepali husband.

Police launched an immediate investigation and managed to recover the woman within hours of the reported incident. She was found safe at a hotel in Bahria Town, where officials believe she had been lured by individuals posing as fraudulent tour operators.

A spokesperson for the Deputy Inspector General (Operations) stated that the suspects have been arrested and further investigation is underway to determine the full circumstances surrounding the case.

Authorities have also expanded the scope of the investigation to uncover any wider network involved in the alleged fraud.

Officials added that the victim had last contacted her husband after landing in Lahore, after which her phone and WhatsApp became unreachable, raising suspicions of foul play.

The case remains under investigation, and police say more details will emerge as inquiries progress.
