WASHINGTON: The United States has extended a waiver allowing the purchase and sale of Russian oil for an additional month, according to the US Treasury Department.
Officials said the exemption will remain in effect until May 16, permitting transactions involving Russian oil without restrictions during this period.
The Treasury Department stated that the move aims to ease potential shortages in global oil markets amid ongoing supply concerns.
It is worth noting that the US had previously granted a similar one-month waiver, which expired on April 11 before being reinstated again.
