US-Iran Ceasefire Deal Near as 14-Point Secret Plan Emerges

WASHINGTON: The United States and Iran are reportedly moving closer to a phased agreement aimed at ending escalating tensions, with details of a proposed 14-point framework now emerging in international media reports.

According to foreign news agencies, the draft plan is designed to gradually de-escalate the conflict, restore maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, and initiate broader political and nuclear negotiations.

The proposed agreement reportedly consists of three stages. In the first phase, both sides would formally announce a cessation of hostilities. The second phase would focus on restoring shipping routes in the Strait of Hormuz and reducing regional tensions. The final phase would involve a 30-day negotiation process covering major political and nuclear issues.

Media reports suggest that the US proposal includes strict conditions for Iran, including halting uranium enrichment for up to 12 years and refraining from developing nuclear weapons. It also reportedly requires the transfer of significant stockpiles of enriched uranium.

In return, Washington would gradually ease economic sanctions, unfreeze billions in Iranian assets, and lift maritime restrictions affecting Iranian ports.

If finalized, the agreement could significantly reduce tensions in the Middle East and stabilize global energy markets, particularly oil supply routes passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

Analysts say successful implementation of the deal could mark a major diplomatic breakthrough, easing weeks of regional instability and reducing pressure on the global economy.
