WASHINGTON: US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has said that the United States under the leadership of President Donald Trump will continue to stand with the Jewish people.
Speaking at a conference, Rubio said the Trump administration’s new visa policy was designed to prevent foreign individuals who promote hatred against the Jewish community from entering the United States.
He also said the administration was holding countries and international organizations accountable when they adopt what he described as extremist, anti-Israel narratives.
Despite the challenges facing the region, Rubio said the United States remained hopeful about the future of the Middle East.
He expressed optimism that the Abraham Accords would continue to shape regional relations and contribute to a more peaceful Middle East.
Rubio’s remarks come amid continued tensions in the Middle East and ongoing US diplomatic efforts to address regional conflicts and strengthen relations between Israel and Arab countries.
