LAHORE: Ten nominated additional judges of the Lahore High Court took oath on Tuesday, with Chief Justice Justice Aalia Neelum administering the oath at a ceremony held at the high court.
The newly sworn-in additional judges are Justice Ghulam Sarwar Nehang, Justice Muhammad Ajmal Khan Zahid, Justice Ameer Ajum Malik, Justice Shireen Imran, Justice Asad Ali Bajwa, Justice Muhammad Amjad Parvez, Justice Khalid Bin Aziz, Justice Munawar Iqbal Dogal, Justice Syed Farhad Ali Shah and Justice Usman Ghani Rashid Cheema.
Justice Tariq Mahmood Bajwa also took oath as a permanent judge of the Lahore High Court.
Senior judges, the Advocate General Punjab, the Prosecutor General, other law officers, senior lawyers, bar representatives and family members of the newly appointed judges attended the ceremony.
Chief Justice Aalia Neelum congratulated the newly appointed judges and expressed her best wishes for their tenure.
Following the appointments, the total number of judges serving at the Lahore High Court has risen to 50, while the number of vacant seats has fallen to 10.
