14 Countries Condemn Opening of “Somaliland” Embassy in Occupied Jerusalem

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and 13 other countries have condemned the opening of “Somaliland” Embassy in Occupied Jerusalem.

A joint statement issued by foreign ministers of 14 countries, including Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Qatar, Türkiye, Jordan, Lebanon, Indonesia, Djibouti, Somalia, Palestine, Oman, Sudan, and Yemen, has strongly condemned the opening of a so-called “Somaliland” embassy in occupied Jerusalem.

The statement said the move is a clear violation of international law and relevant United Nations resolutions.

It further stated that any unilateral attempt to alter the legal and historical status of occupied Jerusalem is rejected.

The foreign ministers emphasized that East Jerusalem has been under occupation since 1967, and all actions aimed at changing its status are considered null and illegal.

The joint statement also reaffirmed full support for the unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Somalia, rejecting any unilateral step that undermines its statehood.

It added that no measures taken in violation of international law and UN resolutions will be recognized.
