HYDERABAD: The Karachi-Rawalpindi Tezgam Express narrowly escaped a major accident after one of its carriages derailed within the limits of Hyderabad on Wednesday morning.
According to railway officials, Tezgam Express (7-Up) was entering Hyderabad after crossing the Kotri Bridge when a carriage attached to the engine went off the track.
The derailed carriage was located at the front of the train. Officials confirmed that no loss of life or injuries were reported in the incident.
Railway technical teams reached the site and separated the engine from the affected carriage. Work to restore the derailed carriage and clear the track is underway.
The incident has affected train movement on the up track, while railway staff are working to restore normal rail operations as quickly as possible.
Authorities are expected to determine the cause of the derailment after a technical assessment of the affected section and carriage.
