ISLAMABAD: Members of the Federal Cabinet and Parliament have welcomed the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement between Pakistan, Türkiye and Saudi Arabia, describing it as a landmark development that would strengthen regional security, reinforce deterrence and promote lasting peace.
In their video statements, the ministers and parliamentarians said the agreement reflected the shared resolve of the three brotherly countries to stand by one another and work collectively for peace and stability in the region.
They also paid tribute to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for their efforts in advancing closer strategic cooperation among Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye.
Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal said the agreement would further reinforce efforts aimed at promoting peace and stability in the region.
Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar described the agreement as a milestone in the growing partnership among Pakistan, Türkiye and Saudi Arabia.
Minister for Power Sardar Awais Leghari said the collective resolve of the three countries in pursuit of peace would enable them to establish strong deterrence against any aggression.
Minister for Information Technology Shaza Fatima Khawaja said the leadership of the three countries had demonstrated that strong leaders could bring nations and peoples closer together.
Ali Pervez Malik, Tariq Fazal Chaudhary, Rana Sanaullah Khan, Amir Muqam and Talal Chaudhary said the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement would further strengthen the existing cordial and strategic ties between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye.
Romina Khursheed Alam, Khael Das Kohistani, Daniyal Chaudhary, Abdul Aleem Khan, Wajiha Qamar, Allama Tahir Ashrafi and Syeda Nosheen Iftikhar were among others who expressed strong support for the agreement.
They said the agreement would open new avenues for closer cooperation among the three countries and contribute to collective efforts for peace, security and stability in the region.
